Horny

When you are horny, all you long for is sexual and sensual exploration. It is a peculiar kinda longing. The kind you mangle and do everything possible to put away. But it keeps coming back. Each episode stronger than it’s previous. This mangling and putting away can be a problem. At one end is the idea of freely exploring sexual longings and at the other is the idea of staying celibate for nebulous reasons such as duty to a partner, the pressure to fulfill religious expectations, or the need to simply put yourself in a sense that you are in control of your body and your desires.

What I have found to help has been staying true to the genuine response to the question: what do you want? If you want to do something. Do it.

The complexity arise from figuring out what you want while grappling with consequences of what the actions you take might bring. I found that exploring the consequences (even just in your head) leads you to the genuine response to the question.

Denying it increases the urge. Expressing it may bring undesired consequences. Explore the consequences. Figure what you want and do it. Give yourself permission to do.

  1. What a Dilemna. So you’re advicing that whatever the consequences, I should still “explore the consequences”? ‘You’re Awesome!’

    1. What I am suggesting is that since we seldom know the consequences of some actions that send chills down our spine, say starting a convo with a stranger, it may be not-so-bad an idea to explore what the actions could bring. If you want to say hi… Just say hi and get over it over with. It’s easy to become trapped in your head exploring thoughts like: “what if he ignores me?, What if others laugh at me?”. You can say I am coming from a place of no one knows the future, fabricating an unkind one in your head doesn’t do u much service.

I emphasize “may” in this context. In my experience, i can say we exaggerate our fears to a point that results in unnecessary paralysis. A paralysis that stops us from getting what we want.

      Enjoy. You are Awesome.
